Sarah Lax is a mother, a midwife, an educator, and the founder of Born Together. After experiencing first hand the gap in care for new mothers after the birth of her first daughter, Sarah has deep compassion for new moms who are feeling isolated and overwhelmed. In addition to practicing as a midwife for over a decade, Sarah is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, a Holistic Pelvic Care™ provider, a TRE® (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) provider, a P2i® (Preconception to Infancy) provider, and has a passion for movement therapies that target stress reduction and pelvic floor support. Sarah is also an adjunct faculty member at Bastyr University teaching Perinatal Nutrition in the Department of Midwifery.
Kristine Petterson is a sleep specialist, doula, and yoga instructor who loves to support exhausted families as they walk the path to healthy sleep habits. With her background as a public school teacher and her own journey with postpartum sleep challenges, Kristine has the ability to connect with empathy and guidance as parents embark on their own sleep journey. Kristine’s goal is to empower families to listen to their baby’s voice, harness their intuition, and support their baby’s innate desire to be a well-rested human.
Sarah Jane Wright is a Certified Lactation Consultant and Infant Feeding Specialist. When working with families, Sarah Jane’s goal is to help foster honest and meaningful connections that lead to realistic results for parents and their babies. Sarah Jane’s philosophy is grounded in the belief that no matter what a family’s personal circumstances may be, feeding a baby is not just about the breast or bottle, but also about the connection.
Tonie Lough believes that motherhood is an amazing gift, and mamas should not have to feel like they are “paying the price” for that gift – for the rest of their lives – in bladder insecurity, in low back pain, sometimes even in feeling like their “organs are falling out!” Through her work as a Personal Trainer and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, Tonie has seen first hand how bodies are AMAZINGLY adaptable and will do what we tell it, given the right information, in the right sequence. She specializes in core strengthening, pelvic floor dysfunction, and diastasis recti repair to support moms at any stage in their postpartum healing process.
Dr. Grady is a licensed pediatric psychologist who takes a positive, strengths-based approach to helping families understand, accept, and cope with challenges and change in their lives. Dr. Grady teaches parents how to connect with their infants utilizing models such as The Incredible Years and Promoting First Relationships, all with the goal of coaching parents to build positive relationships, feel more empowered and ultimately experience greater connection with their little ones.
Sala Kannan is a mother and entrepreneur. After graduating from Cambridge University with a degree in Economics, she launched several businesses, including a software company. Her most recent creation Wisdom Words: Postpartum, is an affirmation card deck that inspires and supports postpartum moms. Sala is a life long learner, and has spent years studying meditation, neuroplasticity and women’s health. Prior to and after becoming a mother, she has offered hundreds of workshops in India and the U.S., with the goal of supporting women’s transformation and expansion.
